Domestic robots, represented by Siasun, have gone global
Currently, the general view of domestic industrial robot system integration enterprises, downstream application enterprises, and research institutions on domestic industrial robots is that the quality of domestic industrial robot body products has not yet been verified by the market, the price-performance ratio is low, and they are still concentrated in low-end application areas such as handling and palletizing, lacking advantages in application areas such as welding, spraying, and assembly. Therefore, local robot system integrators, regardless of size, cooperate closely with international giants such as ABB, Fanuc, and KUKA. However, in the process of cooperating with these international giants, local system integrators do not have much say or bargaining power. According to "New Strategy Robot", the current net profit margin of most domestic system integrators is only around 10%.
In fact, the technology of current domestic industrial robots is not as far behind foreign robots as most current opinions describe. Chen Li, Manager of the Industrial Robot Application Technology Department of Hangzhou Siasun Robot Automation Co., Ltd., as the main speaker of the salon, gave an in-depth introduction to the current status of domestic industrial robot technology represented by Siasun, and shared numerous practical application cases, such as automobile body welding, robot glazing in the sanitary ware industry, robot assembly welding in the elevator industry, and robot processing and assembly in the building materials and home furnishing industry. He mentioned that Siasun's general industrial robot products have accumulated more than 30 years of technology and nearly 20 years of engineering applications, covering various operations such as spot welding, arc welding, palletizing, assembly, grinding, polishing, spraying, and machine tool loading and unloading, and have been widely used in automobile complete vehicles and parts, engineering machinery, electricity, electronics, home appliances, elevators, food, medicine, textiles, hardware, high and low voltage electrical appliances and other industries. For example, in Hangzhou, Siasun industrial robots have been widely used in companies such as Xizi Elevator and Boss Appliances. Moreover, Siasun robot products have been exported to 23 countries and regions around the world, including the United States, Russia, and Singapore, and have been included in the procurement list of international giants such as General Motors, Ford, and TRW.

Li Zhenggang, General Manager of Hangzhou Siasun Robot Co., Ltd., said that strengthening cooperation between local system integrators and domestic body manufacturers is conducive to creating synergy, breaking through the scale bottleneck of domestic robots, driving the development of the domestic core component industry, further reducing robot costs, improving profit margins, gradually seizing the right to speak and bargaining power in the robot market, and developing a group of more competitive solution providers.

Domestic robot core components still need to strengthen technological breakthroughs and cooperation
Robot core components include reducers, servo motors, controllers, high-precision gears, and castings. In terms of reducers, after several years of experience in actual projects and continuous testing by robot body manufacturers such as Siasun and Qianjiang, as well as government support, their performance has been significantly improved. For example, Shuanghuan Transmission signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Siasun Robot and pioneered the use of robots with independent reducers for gear production, with continuously improving performance. In the future, designing high-precision reducers with independent intellectual property rights to meet the needs of robot body enterprises will become a trend.
In terms of servo motor drives, led by Hangzhou Siasun Robot and jointly undertaken by Tuofeng and other enterprises, a major industrial chain innovation project in Hangzhou was completed, and the province's first batch of servo drivers suitable for robots with bus communication protocols were developed. However, the stability and mass production capacity of the products still need to be strengthened. In this salon, Beijing Tsinghua University Qingneng Chuang Company, which is currently one of the best in this field in China, was also invited to share its experience. Miniaturization, lightweight, high power, low inertia, and high speed of motors have always been difficult points in servo motor design. Currently, Huichuan, Tenghuo, and Dengqi in China have made certain achievements in this aspect, and the performance of their products can be comparable to European and Japanese motors.
In terms of castings, the four major families (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa) have placed some castings in China for production, and the production volume in Shanghai and Jiaxing has already occupied a certain market share. However, there is still a lack of manufacturers who can communicate with robot body manufacturers and determine design schemes. Domestic traditional casting manufacturers have poor production environments, rough processing processes, and do not meet environmental protection standards, and urgently need improvement and strengthening.
The controller is the brain of the industrial robot. Siasun Robot has always used its own independently developed control system, but the brains of most domestic industrial robots are still grafted from foreign brands. There are few robot body manufacturers with truly independent control systems, and even fewer with mature solutions. Currently, based on inheriting the independent control technology of Siasun Group, Hangzhou Siasun has further upgraded the controller system and communication scheme, reducing the robot communication cycle from the traditional 4ms by half, and the overall performance has reached the leading level of similar international products. Undoubtedly, domestic robots will continue to move towards high-end applications, continuously occupy high value-added application markets, and will more widely replace manual labor.
Hangzhou-made robots achieve fruitful results, Siasun releases 4kg robot for 3C precision assembly
At the meeting, Hangzhou Siasun's independently developed high-precision lightweight 4kg robot was officially released. This robot is the result of a year of independent research and development by Hangzhou Siasun. It adopts an innovative internal transmission structure, a lightweight arm design, and is based on the open-source RT-Linux system, equipped with independently developed kinematics and dynamics algorithms, and has characteristics such as speed, accuracy, and agility.
"It is especially suitable for flexible production lines with compact layouts and high precision, and can meet the needs of industrial operations such as precision assembly, product packaging, grinding, handling, inspection, screwing, and bonding." Chen Li, manager of the Industrial Robot Application Technology Department of Hangzhou Siasun, introduced that compared with similar robots on the market, this small robot has extremely high precision, with a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.03mm, and is also more cost-effective. This robot is currently in mass production in Hangzhou. As an expert in the field of inspection and testing, Li Zhifei, deputy director of Hangzhou Quality Inspection Institute, immediately stated that the robot's repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.03mm is already quite high in the industry and has great technical difficulty.
Currently, Siasun's new robot product has been successfully applied in teaching, electronic assembly, packaging, food and beverage, and machinery processing industries. In the next step, the product will be equipped with new technologies and functions such as drag teaching, visual guidance, and collision detection, leading a new direction for the development of domestic small-load lightweight high-precision robots.

At this salon event, representatives from various enterprises engaged in enthusiastic discussions centered on "How to strengthen cooperation between local system integrators and body manufacturers." Companies such as Qianjiang Robot and Shuanghuan Transmission actively shared their perspectives. Furthermore, component manufacturers like Hengfengtai also offered their insights on strengthening cooperation between local component manufacturers and robot body manufacturers. The Hangzhou Quality Inspection Institute also spoke on the importance of third-party inspection and testing of robots and complete sets of equipment in the promotion and application of robots, and proposed actively building this inspection and testing platform. The scene was filled with lively exchanges of views and interactions between supply and demand, jointly exploring strategies for cooperation among robot enterprises.
Chen Changjie, Deputy Director of the Industrial Investment Department of the Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, spoke highly of this salon event. He stated that while previously the focus was on "machine replacement," the current emphasis is on "robot replacement" to achieve intelligent transformation. "We are happy to build a platform for cooperation and communication between robot enterprises and enterprises with needs, and we must focus on problems, identify key points, and provide precise services." He hopes that robot and system integration enterprises will each have their own characteristics and specialized fields, jointly providing intelligent manufacturing engineering services for Zhejiang Province's industrial transformation and upgrading.
