Jiang Xinsong, the father of Chinese robotics - commemorating the 20th anniversary of the passing of Academician Jiang Xinsong
In response to President Xi Jinping's call to "build a strong science and technology power," and to promote the patriotic dedication and pursuit of excellence of the older generation of scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and to publicize the outstanding contributions of the new generation of CAS scientists in achieving the goals of "facing the three major challenges," and "taking the lead in four aspects," the CAS launched the "Most Beautiful Scientists in the Lens" video collection and exhibition activity.
The video work "Father of Chinese Robotics - Jiang Xinsong," submitted by the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is now online on the official website of "Most Beautiful Scientists in the Lens".
Jiang Xinsong (1931-1997) was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. He was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a strategic scientist, the former director of the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a researcher, a doctoral supervisor, and the chief scientist of the national "863" plan in the field of automation. He was known as the "Father of Chinese Robotics." In 2017, on the 20th anniversary of Academician Jiang Xinsong's death, in conjunction with the "Most Beautiful Scientists in the Lens" activity, the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, together with the Shenyang Branch, carefully filmed and produced "Father of Chinese Robotics - Jiang Xinsong." The documentary focuses on Academician Jiang Xinsong's outstanding contributions to China's automation field, as well as his sense of responsibility and mission as a Communist Party member. It is hoped that a large number of scientific researchers and Party members can take Academician Jiang Xinsong as an example, study diligently, strive for excellence, be strict with themselves, be tolerant of others, and forge ahead for the country's scientific and technological undertakings.
